St. Joseph`s Lacrosse Shines with Dutton and LaCalandra

St. Joseph`s lacrosse excels with Dutton and LaCalandra, while Princeton`s Mackesy shines in a win over Lehigh.

St. Joseph`s men`s lacrosse team continues to impress this season, currently holding the No. 15 ranking in the nation according to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Despite the loss of their top goal scorers from the previous season, the team has found new stars in true first-year attack Ben Dutton, who has been on a scoring streak, and fifth-year attack Richie LaCalandra, known for his agility around the crease.

The defensive unit, anchored by senior defender Levi Verch and junior goalie Tommy Gross, has played a pivotal role in the team`s success, allowing single-digit goals in multiple games. Their cohesive effort on both ends of the field has positioned St. Joseph`s as a formidable contender this season.

In another highlight, No. 4 Princeton men`s lacrosse triumphed over the Lehigh Mountain Hawks with a score of 17-12. Senior attacker Coulter Mackesy delivered a standout performance, climbing the ranks of Princeton`s all-time scoring list. The Tigers showcased their depth with nine different players contributing to the scoreboard, while junior Andrew McMeekin excelled at face-offs, securing 12 ground balls.

Additionally, the National Lacrosse League has announced its 2025 playoff schedule, marking a significant moment for professional lacrosse in the United States. For more information, visit USILA Lacrosse and NLL Lacrosse.
