Hillis Burns led Washington and Lee to victory, earning USILA Team of the Week honors with seven points.

Hillis Burns, a standout senior from the Washington and Lee men`s lacrosse team, has earned a spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week following a stellar performance in the season opener against York (Pa.). Burns was instrumental in leading the No. 4 Generals to a 12-10 victory, scoring three goals and providing four assists for a total of seven points.

His explosive start included five points in the first quarter, helping the Generals establish a commanding lead. During a pivotal 6-2 run from the second to third quarter, Burns contributed significantly, ensuring the team maintained a 9-7 advantage that they would not relinquish. Additionally, he recorded two ground balls, marking his first selection to the USILA Team of the Week and becoming only the third General to achieve this honor since the 2022 season.

The Generals are set to continue their campaign next Wednesday, February 26, with a matchup against the Shoremen of Washington College. In women`s lacrosse, George Mason faced American University, where Daniella Jimenez led the Patriots with four goals in an 18-9 loss.
