Mullins-trained Macdermott wins Scottish National

In an exciting picture finish at Ayr, Macdermott won the Scottish Grand National by the narrowest of margins.

After a late charge, Toby Lawes' Surrey Quest (20-1) was narrowly defeated at the finish.

A week prior to Macdermott's (18-1) victory, the Irish trainer I Am Maximus won the Grand National at Aintree. The trainer Willie Mullins trained the winner.
