State Man wins Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham

State Man won the Champion Hurdle, bringing trainer Willie Mullins closer to 100 Cheltenham Festival triumphs.

The 2-5 favourite, ridden by Paul Townend, finished second last year but went one better in the absence of defending champion Constitution Hill.

Mullins would be the first to achieve the centenary, with 97 triumphs after Gaelic Warrior and Lossiemouth both won on Tuesday.
