Benji Culhane is thrilled to be pursuing a career as a representative for New Zealand.

Simon Culhane, his father, participated in six tests for the All Blacks in 1995 and 1996. During the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa, he set a world record by converting 20 of 21 shots against Japan. The record still stands today.

Culhane decided to don the silver fern for hockey instead of following Simon's rugby heritage.
