Dimmock and Woad Set for KPMG Women`s Irish Open

Annabel Dimmock and Lottie Woad headline the KPMG Women`s Irish Open, with Shane Lowry targeting major success.

Reigning champion Annabel Dimmock is set to defend her title at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open, joined by world amateur number one Lottie Woad. Dimmock, who has Irish roots through her mother from Youghal, County Cork, clinched the 2024 event in a thrilling playoff against Pauline Roussin-Bouchard at Carton House. Woad, currently studying at Florida State University, had an impressive 2024, winning the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and reaching the top of the amateur rankings. She also showcased her talent by finishing tied for 10th as the leading amateur at the AIG Women’s Open at St. Andrews.

The KPMG Women’s Irish Open will take place from June 30th to July 6th on the O`Meara Course at Carton House, with tournament play scheduled for the final four days. In other golf news, Shane Lowry is aiming for a second major title in 2025 and is focused on securing a spot on Europe’s Ryder Cup team. Lowry, who won The Open in 2019, has had multiple top-10 finishes in majors since then and is determined to excel in upcoming tournaments.

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy is eager for a rematch against Bryson DeChambeau after their intense US Open face-off. McIlroy aims to learn from his previous defeat and return stronger in the new season. Additionally, the County Sligo links are set for an upgrade ahead of the 102nd Connolly Motor Group sponsored West of Ireland Amateur Open.
