Melbourne Victory secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Wellington Phoenix in the Isuzu Ute A-League Round 19 match at AAMI Park on Valentine`s Day. This win was particularly special as it coincided with Melbourne Victory`s 20th season anniversary, marking a significant milestone for the club.

The match was tightly contested, with both teams displaying strong defensive strategies. Early on, Reno Piscopo`s volleyed attempts showcased Victory`s offensive intent, while the Phoenix struggled to register any shots on target in the first half. A pivotal moment came at half-time when Arthur Diles introduced Santos, whose speed proved instrumental in breaking the deadlock.

In the 57th minute, Santos delivered a precise cross into the penalty area, allowing Nikos Vergos to score with a superb header, marking his fourth goal of the season.
