The 2025 season will see LAFC competing in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, starting with a match against the Colorado Rapids on February 18, followed by their MLS regular-season opener against Minnesota United on February 22 at BMO Stadium.
Meanwhile, the New England Revolution is undergoing a significant roster overhaul, having released 18 players and signed 14 new ones. This transition is expected to affect the team`s performance, particularly in the early part of the season. Notable signings include Leo Campana from Inter Miami, along with Maxi Urruti and Ignatius Ganago, aimed at strengthening the forward line. The Revolution`s defense has also been reshaped with the exits of key defenders David Romney, Nick Lima, and Xavier Arreaga.
The Leagues Cup 2025 format has been unveiled, featuring two rounds: Phase One and the Knockout Rounds. Phase One will consist of three consecutive match dates per club from July 29 to August 7, with all 54 matches played between MLS and LIGA MX clubs. The LA Galaxy, as the defending MLS Cup champion, will enjoy venue privileges throughout the tournament.
