USSF and MLS secured a legal victory against NASL, dismissing anti-trust claims and impacting league dynamics.

A federal jury in New York has ruled in favor of the US Soccer Federation (USSF) and Major League Soccer (MLS) in a significant anti-trust case brought by the North American Soccer League (NASL). The NASL alleged that the USSF and MLS conspired to block their sanctioning as a Division II league. The jury dismissed these claims, concluding that the USSF did not violate anti-trust laws, effectively nullifying the NASL`s potential damages of $375 million. This ruling marks a pivotal moment for the future of soccer leagues in North America, as the NASL plans to appeal the decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

As the 2025 MLS season approaches, the standings from the previous season highlight the competitive landscape of the league. In 2023, the New York Red Bulls topped the table with 71 points, closely followed by Atlanta United FC with 69 points, and Sporting Kansas City with 62 points. The upcoming season promises to be dynamic, with teams making strategic transfers, including Sebastián Driussi`s move from an MLS club to River Plate and Nicolás Dubersarsky joining another MLS team. Fans eagerly await live scores and updates as the new season unfolds, showcasing the talent and intensity of Major League Soccer.
