The Leagues Cup 2025 is set to elevate the excitement of Major League Soccer (MLS) as it introduces a revamped format featuring 36 clubs. This tournament will include all 18 teams from LIGA MX and 18 qualifying MLS teams, with the top nine from each MLS Conference making the cut. Notably, San Diego FC will replace Vancouver Whitecaps FC in this edition, adding a fresh dynamic to the competition.

Phase One of the tournament will run from July 29 to August 7, where clubs will engage in three matches against opponents from the opposite league. The teams will be divided into Eastern and Western regions, sorted into three tiers based on their rankings. Each tier will consist of six clubs, ensuring a competitive balance between MLS and LIGA MX teams.

Following Phase One, the Knockout Rounds will commence, with the top four clubs from each league advancing to the Quarterfinals. The matchups will be determined by the performance in Phase One, with an inverse ranking order applied. This structure promises thrilling matchups as teams vie for a spot in the Semifinals, Third Place match, and ultimately the Final, where three clubs will earn qualification for the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.

The tournament will maintain its `No Draws` format, rewarding teams for regulation wins and adding an extra layer of intensity to each match. With the competition sanctioned by Concacaf and hosted in the United States and Canada, the Leagues Cup 2025 is poised to deliver a captivating showcase of soccer talent and rivalry.
