US Women's National Team Triumphs Over Iceland

The US Women's National Team celebrated their first match since winning the Olympic gold on August 10 by defeating Iceland 3-1 in Austin, Texas. Alyssa Thompson, 19, scored her first goal for the national team in the 39th minute. Despite Selma Magnusdottir equalizing for Iceland in the 56th minute, the US secured victory with late goals from Jaedyn Shaw and Sophia Smith. The teams will meet again in Nashville on Saturday.
