Japan thrashes China 7-0; Minamino hits double

Japan easily defeated China 7-0 at Saitama Stadium on Thursday to begin the third round of Asia's qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. Hajime Moriyasu's team led the way.
In the Group C match, Japan led by two goals at halftime with to goals from Wataru Endo and Kaoru Mitoma. However, Takumi Minamino scored twice in the second half.
Takefusa Kubo, Junya Ito, and Daizen Maeda all contributed to the score as China was utterly outmatched.
