Ferguson named Serie A midfielder of the year

Lewis Ferguson, a Scotland international, has been awarded the Bulgarelli Number 8 Award, which is given to the top midfielder in Serie A for the current campaign.

The captain of Bologna had a fantastic season leading his team to a Champions League berth before he sustained a season-ending knee injury in April.

Ferguson was one of the best players in the Italian top division before the injury, with six goals and four assists in 31 league games.
