The City defender captained the team that defeated Fluminese 4-0 in Saudi Arabia to win their fifth championship of 2023. Despite the joyous occasion for the Cityzens, the England defender was still involved in a physical altercation with Melo following the game. Walker was shoved by Melo at the end of regulation and had to be restrained by Man City's backroom staff along with his teammates, including Jack Grealish.
