New Zealand defender Meikayla Moore scored three goals - for the US women’s national team – as the Americans won 5-0 on Sunday in the second round of matches in the SheBelieves Cup.
The New Zealand player needed just 36 mins to complete her hat-trick of own goals against the USA.
It was supposed to be a day to remember for all the right reasons for the 25-year-old as she earned her 50th cap for her country, but she inadvertently netted at the wrong end twice in the space of two minutes in the 5th and 6th minutes, and after turning the ball past her goalkeeper yet again half an hour later as her side went 3-0 down at the half time.
Moore, who plays for Championship leaders Liverpool FC was Substituted at halftime after giving her opponent three goals within 36 minutes.
