Birmingham City leads EFL League One after Stansfield`s goal, while Wrexham and Stockport struggle to gain ground.

Birmingham City solidified their position at the top of EFL League One with a narrow 1-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers at St. Andrew`s. Jay Stansfield, the Blues` top scorer, netted the decisive goal in the 37th minute, bringing his season tally to 17 goals. The win elevates Birmingham to 76 points from 33 matches, extending their lead over second-placed Wycombe, who remain on 64 points.

Wycombe`s challenge was further complicated when defender Joe Jacobson received a red card for a second bookable offense in the 65th minute, leaving them to fight with ten men. Meanwhile, third-placed Wrexham missed an opportunity to close the gap on Wycombe, settling for a frustrating goalless draw against Bolton Wanderers at home. Despite dominating possession, Wrexham could only manage one shot on target, leaving them with 63 points.

Stockport County also failed to capitalize on Wrexham`s slip, drawing 1-1 at home against Huddersfield Town. The results maintain the status quo in the top four of League One, with Birmingham City looking increasingly poised to secure the title and promotion to the Championship.
