Switzerland Stun Reigning Euro Champions

In a dominant display, Switzerland easily overcame a poor Italy side, the reigning European champions, with a 2-0 win in Berlin on Saturday. Remo Freuler (37' ) and Ruben Vargas (46' ) scored the goals as the Swiss became the first team to advance to the Euro quarterfinals. Italy showed the same flaws as in the group stage - a lack of offensive creativity and a vulnerable defense, though Gianluigi Donnarumma again impressed in goal for the Azzurri.
