Competing for FDJ-SUEZ, she launched a decisive attack before the final climb, Alto de Barx, and finished 30 seconds ahead of Marlen Reusser from Movistar and Anna van der Breggen of SD Worx-Protime. This win not only marked Vollering`s first victory of the season but also earned her the overall leader`s jersey as the race progresses to stage 2.
