British Cycling Foundation Launches with Community Impact

British Cycling`s new foundation marks a significant social impact, while competitive cycling sees exciting developments and rising stars.

British Cycling and the Great Britain Cycling Team have made a remarkable impact, contributing over 1,200 hours of social volunteering to launch the British Cycling Foundation. Spearheaded by three-time Olympic champion Ed Clancy OBE, this initiative aims to enhance health, foster inclusion, and combat inactivity and isolation. Over 270 riders, coaches, and staff have engaged in community projects like Manchester Bike Kitchen and Chorlton Bike Deliveries, showcasing a profound commitment to social equity in cycling.

On the competitive front, the excitement builds as the Tour of Britain Women’s race is set to expand to a five-stage event in 2026, a significant stride towards parity with the men’s race. Rising star Zoe Bäcktstedt clinched her first elite national time trial victory on Welsh roads, while Millie Couzens captured the U23 title, highlighting the burgeoning talent within British cycling.

In team news, Team Visma | Lease a Bike has unveiled a striking new race kit for 2025, featuring the iconic Rabobank branding. Meanwhile, Specialized has launched a limited edition Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe Tour de France kit, inspired by France’s football team, and Canyon has introduced a new range of carbon fiber wheels. With discounts on Continental’s GP5000 S TR road tyre, the UK cycling scene is buzzing with innovation and community spirit.
