England Eyes Ashes Glory with Knight at Helm

England Eyes Ashes Glory with Knight at Helm

England's cricket team is preparing for a crucial series against Australia, the Commbank Women's Ashes 2025, which kicks off on January 12. Under the leadership of Heather Knight, the team is optimistic about their chances, especially with the added experience of younger players since their last Ashes tour in 2022. Spinner Charlie Dean expressed that the squad is more confident this time, having gained valuable international exposure.

The series will commence with the first ODI at North Sydney Oval, followed by matches at CitiPower Centre in Melbourne and Bellerive Oval in Hobart. After the ODIs, the teams will face off in T20I matches at iconic venues including the SCG in Sydney and Adelaide Oval. Australia boasts a strong lineup featuring key players like Alyssa Healy, Ashleigh Gardner, and Ellyse Perry, while England aims to reclaim the trophy after nearly a decade.

In addition to the Ashes, England is set to face India in a five-match T20I series starting on January 22, 2025, at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. This series is part of England's tour of India, with matches scheduled to begin in the evening local time. The BCCI selection committee is expected to announce the squad for the Champions Trophy 2025 and the series against England following India's recent Test series loss to Australia.
