Southee stars as Phoenix claim vital win

Tim Southee scored an outstanding 5-12 to lead Birmingham Phoenix to a decisive victory over Trent Rockets at Edgbaston by six wickets.

After taking two early wickets to remove Tom Banton and Joe Root, the New Zealand seamer claimed three more wickets in the final five balls of the innings, limiting the Rockets to 118.

After John Turner was first declared leg before wicket, a review disallowed him from completing a hat-trick, but Southee still finished second in The Hundred men's competition.
