Mitchell Starc, an Australian fast bowler, broke the record for the most expensive player at an IPL auction when he was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 24.75 crore, or roughly US$2,982,000. At the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai, he exceeded Sunrisers Hyderabad's winning bid of INR 20.50 crore (roughly US$2,470,00 for Australia's captain Pat Cummins, who won the ODI World Cup, less than two hours earlier.#ipl #cricket
