England Under-19s Thrill with Seven-Wicket Win Over India

England Under-19s shine with a seven-wicket victory, showcasing emerging talent despite losing the series to India.

The England Under-19 cricket team delivered a stunning performance, clinching a seven-wicket victory over India Under-19s in the final Youth ODI at the County Ground, Worcester. Chasing a target of 211 runs, England showcased their batting prowess, reaching 211 for 3 in just 31.1 overs. The star of the show was Ben Mayes, who remained unbeaten on 82 runs, supported by BJ Dawkins with a solid 66 and Thomas Rew, who contributed a vital 49 not out.

India`s innings saw PR Ambrish shine with the bat, scoring an impressive 66 runs, while Naman Pushpak claimed two wickets to keep the pressure on England. However, England`s bowlers, led by Albert and French, who both took two wickets, effectively restricted India to 210 for 9, setting the stage for a thrilling chase.

Despite this victory, India secured the series 3-2 overall, but England`s resilience in the final match highlighted the promising talent emerging from their youth ranks. This match was part of the significant India Under-19 tour of England 2025, crucial for scouting future stars for both nations` senior teams.
