SRH`s Playoff Hopes Dashed in Rain-Shortened Clash

SRH`s playoff hopes ended as their match against DC was abandoned due to rain, impacting both teams` standings.

Heavy rain led to the abandonment of the IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 5, 2025, effectively eliminating SRH from playoff contention. In a rain-shortened encounter, DC managed to post a score of 133/7 in their 20 overs, with Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs both contributing 41 runs.

SRH`s Pat Cummins was a standout performer, taking three crucial wickets, dismissing Karun Nair, Abishek Porel, and Faf du Plessis. Additionally, Harshal Patel claimed the wicket of Axar Patel, while Jaydev Unadkat removed KL Rahul, and Vipraj Nigam was run out. With this result, DC now faces the challenge of winning two out of their remaining three matches to keep their playoff dreams alive.

In other IPL 2025 action, notable results included Mumbai Indians defeating Rajasthan Royals by 100 runs and Punjab Kings overcoming Chennai Super Kings by four wickets. Kolkata Knight Riders secured a narrow 14-run victory against Delhi Capitals, while Rajasthan Royals triumphed over Gujarat Titans by eight wickets. Royal Challengers Bengaluru also claimed a six-wicket win against Delhi Capitals earlier in the tournament. Player statistics and standings remain dynamic as the season progresses.
