Late own goal helps PSG beat European Girona

In their first match of the redesigned Champions League on Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain defeated European debutant Girona 1-0 thanks in part to a last-minute gaffe by goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.
With more than 60% of the play and 24 shots on target, PSG appeared to be outmatched at the Parc des Princes until a low cross from Nuno Mendes wiggled past Gazzaniga and into the net in the ninetieth minute.
