Libya blames Nigeria for postponement of qualifier
Nigeria was blamed by the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) for the postponing of Tuesday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Benghazi after the visitors declined to play, claiming they had been mistreated upon their arrival.
For more than 16 hours, Nigerian officials and players were confined in a sealed airport about 250 kilometers from their destination after their charter jet was diverted while approaching Benghazi and ended up landing in Bayda.
They claimed that during the incident, they were unable to get food or drink, and they did not communicate with Libyan officials. As a result, they chose to return to Nigeria on Monday instead of playing the match.
