Senegal eye semi-final spot with Guinea win, the Lions of Teranga reached this stage of the tournament after claiming a 2-0 win over Cape Verde in their Round of 16 game which was played on Tuesday, meanwhile, Equatorial Guinea advanced to the quarter-finals following their 6-5 win over Mali on penalties in their Round of 16 game which took place on Wednesday. The last meeting between Senegal and Equatorial Guinea was on 17 November 2018 and Senegal claimed a 1-0 win over Equatorial Guinea in the 2019 AFCON qualifier which was played at the Estadio de Bata in Bata.
