Bayern Munich Retires Number 5 in Honor of Franz Beckenbauer


In a heartfelt tribute, Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer announced that the number 5 jersey will no longer be assigned to any player. This decision honors the legendary Franz Beckenbauer, who played 584 matches and scored 72 goals for the club from 1964 to 1977. Beckenbauer, a World Cup champion, passed away in January.
