Ichiro made history by being the first player to receive unanimous selection, appearing on every ballot. CC Sabathia secured his spot with an impressive 93.6% of the votes, while Billy Wagner, in his final year on the ballot, received 84.6%. This year`s election highlights the remarkable careers of these players, each leaving a significant mark on the game.

In offseason news, the Toronto Blue Jays have made a splash by signing outfielder Anthony Santander to a lucrative five-year contract worth over $90 million. This deal includes an opt-out after the 2028 season and $35 million in deferred payments. Santander had a standout 2024 season, showcasing his power with 44 home runs and a .235 batting average.

The San Francisco Giants have also been active, signing left-hander Joey Lucchesi to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training. Lucchesi`s recent performance for the Mets, where he held the Braves to just one run over six innings, has generated optimism for his potential impact.
