Chen Yufei Claims Maiden Badminton Asia Championship Title

Chen Yufei won her first Badminton Asia Championship title, defeating Han Yue, while Kunlavut Vitidsarn claimed the men`s singles title.

Chen Yufei triumphed at the Badminton Asia Championships 2025 in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, securing her first title in the women`s singles event. In a thrilling all-Chinese final, Chen faced Han Yue, overcoming a slow start to win 11-21, 21-14, 21-9 in a gripping 66-minute match. This victory marks a significant comeback for Chen following her hiatus after the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she expressed satisfaction with her performance, rating it an "8 out of 10" and highlighting her ability to play more relaxed.

In the men`s singles final, Thailand`s Kunlavut Vitidsarn emerged victorious against China`s Lu Guangzu, who had to retire due to injury after losing the first game 21-12 and trailing 11-6 in the second. The women`s doubles title was clinched by China`s Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning, while Malaysia`s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik took home the men`s doubles title. The mixed doubles event was won by Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet from Hong Kong. The tournament, held at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, attracted significant attendance and media coverage, showcasing the growing popularity of badminton in the region.
