Chen Yufei Triumphs at Badminton Asia Championships

Chen Yufei and Kunlavut Vitidsarn shine at the Badminton Asia Championships, claiming titles in women`s and men`s singles.

Chen Yufei clinched her first Asian Championships title in women`s singles, showcasing her resilience in a thrilling all-Chinese final against Han Yue. After a rocky start, Chen rallied to win the match with scores of 11-21, 21-14, 21-9, completing the contest in 66 minutes. The former world No. 1 expressed satisfaction with her performance, rating it an "eight out of ten," while acknowledging areas for improvement.

In the men`s singles final, Thailand`s Kunlavut Vitidsarn made history by becoming the first Thai player to win the Asian title. His opponent, China`s Lu Guangzu, retired due to injury while trailing 6-11 in the second game after losing the first 21-12. Vitidsarn`s victory is anticipated to elevate him to a career-high world ranking of No. 2.

The women`s doubles title was secured by China`s Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning, who overcame Japan`s Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida with scores of 21-15, 21-19. Meanwhile, Malaysia`s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik ended an 18-year wait for a men`s doubles gold by defeating China`s Chen Boyang and Liu Yi 21-19, 21-17. In mixed doubles, Hong Kong`s Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet triumphed over Japan`s Hiroki Midorikawa and Natsu Saito with a score of 21-15, 17-21, 21-13.
