USC`s track team excelled at the Spokane Sports Showcase, winning multiple events and setting records.

USC`s track and field team showcased an impressive performance at the Spokane Sports Showcase, winning nine events and setting multiple records. Johnnie Blockburger led the charge by clinching the men`s 200m title with a time of 20.93 seconds. Johnny Brackins Jr. also shone, taking first place in the men`s 60m hurdles with a time of 7.73 seconds. Dajaz DeFrand made headlines in the women`s 60m dash, clocking in at 7.21 seconds, which ties her for the NCAA lead and places her fifth on USC`s all-time list.

JC Stevenson excelled in the men`s long jump, achieving an NCAA-leading jump of 25-10.75 (7.89m). Other notable winners included William Jones in the men`s 600m, Gigi Maccagnini in the women`s 1000m, Christine M. Mallard in the women`s 300m, Alfredo Reina Corona in the men`s 3000m, and Max Thomas, who dominated the men`s 60m dash with a collegiate-leading time of 6.53 seconds.

At the 2025 Cardinal Track and Field Classic, Lauren Phillips emerged victorious in the women`s 400m with a time of 54.97 seconds. Jalia Marks and Jesse Carlin followed closely behind. Abdoulaye Bah topped the men`s 200m with a time of 21.43 seconds, showcasing the depth of talent present at the event.

As the indoor track and field season progresses, anticipation builds for the VA Showcase, which will feature athletes from 24 states and Jamaica, promising thrilling races and field events.
