Kenya Cheipkirui Wins Women's New York Marathon

Sheila Chepkirui of Kenya won the 2024 women's race, finishing in 2 hours, 24 minutes and 35 seconds. It was her first time running the New York City Marathon.

Chepkirui finished nearly 15 seconds ahead of the defending champion Hellen Obiri of Kenya and took home home $100,000 in prize money.
