Johnson-Thompson renews Thiam rivalry at Roma 2024

Before their anticipated race for gold in Paris in 2024, Katarina Johnson-Thompson will rekindle her rivalry with Olympic heptathlon winner Nafi Thiam at the European Athletics Championships in Rome.

Twelve months after winning the title of world champion for the second time in Budapest, Johnson-Thompson, 31, will try to win an Olympic medal for the first time in Paris this summer.

Thiam, a Belgian who was injured and missed the World Championships the previous year, is going for a third straight European gold before trying to complete a hat-trick in the Olympics after victories in Rio and Tokyo.
