World record holder Kipruto banned for six years

Rhonex Kipruto, the world record holder for the 10 km road race in Kenya, has been suspended for six years due to anomalies discovered in his Athlete Biological Passport.

The 24-year-old will forfeit both the 10,000-meter bronze medal he won at the 2019 World Championships and the record he established in Valencia in 2020.

After being temporarily suspended on May 11, 2023, for breaking anti-doping regulations, he will be prohibited until May 2029.
