From Olympic underdog to golden expectations

On the Tokyo track, nobody was more taken aback than the adolescent British athlete.

Keely Hodgkinson was standing there, mouth agape and eyes wide open, her hands fastened on either side of a head that was dazed from two laps that had completely changed her life.

Once an underdog at the Olympics three years prior, she is now one among the favorites to win the gold medal in Paris 2024.

"To be in this position is really quite privileged," Hodgkinson says.
