WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OREGON 22: Gudaf Tsegay (ETH) on top in 1500m heats

The women's 1500m heats got quicker with each race. First #Ethiopia's Hirut Meshesha took heat one in 47.05 ahead of Britain's Laura Muir, then #Kenya's Faith Kipyegon claimed a 44.53 win from Australia's Jessica Hull. By heat three, it was Gudaf Tsegay on top, powering to a 42.68 ahead of Kenya's Winny Chebet.

All the big contenders progressed, with the semifinals taking place on Saturday.
