England Athletes Shine at Pickering Memorial and WPA Grand Prix

England athletes delivered record-breaking performances at the Pickering Memorial and WPA Paris Grand Prix, showcasing their elite status.

The Pickering Memorial International showcased the brilliance of a 19-strong England team, which delivered a stunning array of performances. With podium finishes across the board, the athletes set seven meeting records, achieved four personal bests, and recorded two season`s bests. Among the standout competitors was Moyo Stumpenhusen from Rugby & Northampton, who, under the guidance of coach Garry Herrington, launched a javelin throw of 62.36m, marking a personal best and a new meeting record that elevated her in the European and World rankings.

Across the channel at the WPA Paris Grand Prix, seven England para-athletes rose to the challenge against formidable global opponents. Euan Murray from Team Bath, coached by Graham Mattacks, and Adam Rutter from Worcester, under Lydia Church, both clinched third-place finishes in the T64 100m and F44 discus events, respectively. India Oates of Darlington Harriers, coached by Joseph McDonnell, and Rosie Porter from Herts Phoenix, coached by Catherine Walker, also shone brightly, each achieving season`s bests in their respective events.

These remarkable performances underscore England Athletics` dominance in both able-bodied and para-athletics, reflecting a commitment to excellence across all disciplines. For more details on upcoming events and results, visit England Athletics and Athletics Weekly.
