England`s Youth Shine at Trofeo Opitergium U20

England`s youth excelled at the Trofeo Opitergium U20, with Lucy Wilkinson winning bronze and the team securing silver.

England`s athletics scene is buzzing with recent achievements, particularly from the youth team at the Trofeo Opitergium U20 European Road Race in Italy. The women`s team showcased their talent by securing a silver medal in the team standings. Lucy Wilkinson stood out with an impressive individual performance, clinching a bronze medal with a personal best time of 16:32 minutes. Freya Bradley also made her mark, finishing fourth with a time of 16:35 minutes.

In addition to the youth team`s success, the England team faced challenges at the Anglo-Celtic Plate 100k, where Marius Posa was noted as a DNF (did not finish) on May 9, 2025. Despite this setback, the overall performance of the England team continues to reflect their competitive spirit and dedication to the sport.

Looking ahead, UK Athletics has confirmed Alfie Manthorpe`s selection for the 2025 European 10,000m Cup in Pacé, France. This marks an exciting debut for Manthorpe in a prestigious event, promising to add to the excitement surrounding England`s athletics future.
