Olympiacos Piraeus has made a significant move in the Greek Basketball League by securing a long-term deal with 23-year-old forward/center Antonis Karagiannidis for €1.6 million. The towering 206 cm athlete will continue to hone his skills on loan at Promitheas Patras for the 2025-26 season before officially joining the Olympiacos roster in 2026-27.

Last season, Karagiannidis showcased his potential, averaging 7.2 points and 6.3 rebounds in just 21.7 minutes per game in the Greek top-tier league. His performance in the Basketball Champions League was equally impressive, where he averaged 7.9 points and 5.4 rebounds. His standout contributions earned him MVP honors during a league round, paving the way for his first call-up to Greece`s national team for the EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers.

The contract with Olympiacos is structured as a 3+2-year deal, with annual salaries of €525K for the initial three years and €300K for the optional two-year extension.
