وقال رودري، خلال تصريحاته لبرنامج "El Hormiguero" الإسباني: "لا شك بالنسبة لي، ليونيل ميسي هو أفضل لاعب في التاريخ".
وأضاف: "عندما كان يستلم الكرة، كنت أفكر أن هناك خطرا قادما.. وعندما واجهته، كنت أحاول انتزاع الكرة منه، لكنه كان يهرب مني وكأني غير موجود".
وعن الفارق بين رونالدو وميسي، كشف: "كان كريستيانو رونالدو قادرا على مجاراة ميسي دون امتلاك موهبة طبيعية".
وواصل: "لكن بالنسبة لنا كلاعبين واجهناهما، نعلم أن هناك فرقا. مع كريستيانو، كنا لا نريده أن يدخل منطقة الجزاء لأنه كان قاتلا هناك.. أما مع ميسي، فكان يشكل خطورة بمجرد حصوله على الكرة في أي مكان على أرض الملعب".
وحقق رودري جائزة الكرة الذهبية، لعام 2024، بعدما تفوق على البرازيلي فينيسيوس جونيور نجم ريال مدريد.
