Tokyo2020: Nigeria Gold Medal Hopeful Crashes Out In Wrestling

Nigeria hopes of getting more medals in the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan were cut short after Odunayo was defeated in the women  freestyle 57kg.

In a swift turn of events, having led and in control by 8-2 Odunayo Adekuoroye was defeated by fall by Anastasia Nichita of Moldova.

In his first bout of the Men's freestyle 86kg quarter finals, Nigeria's only male wrestler to Tokyo, Ekerekeme Agiomor lost by superiority 1-12 to Deepak Punia of India.

It was an Utterly shocking and unlucky loss for the Nigeria wrestling team who gave Nigeria her second medal yesterday.

Another Nigerian performing in today event,  Ayomide Bello finished in 3rd place in the Heat 3 of the Women's Canoe Single 200m, slightly missing out on an automatic semi-finals spot.

She'd now battle for one of the 2 available slots in the Quarterfinal 3 later today to be able to progress to the semifinals.
