Nigerians have something to cheer up today as Ese Brume grabs Bronze in the Long Jump to give Nigeria her first medal in the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
Germany's Malaika Mihambo clinches Gold with 7.00m, USA's Brittney Reese with 6.97m claim silver while Brume claims bronze with 6.97m on a countback of 6.97m.
Ese Brume opens her medal chances with a leap good which send her right into the lead in the women's Long Jump final, leaping 6.97m (+0.4), with Malaika Mihamo and Ivana Spanovic both opened with 6.83m and 6.71m respectively.
In her second attempt of 6.67m and foul on her third attempt while Malaika Mihambo had leapt 6.95m on her 2nd attempt and 6.78m on her 3rd, but it's Brittney Reese who takes the lead on countback, matching Ese Brume's opening mark of 6.97m.
Ese Brume retook the lead in her fourth attempt with a leapt of 6.88m close after Brittney Reese leap 6.87m on her 4th attempt.
