Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski has become the third player in history to score 100 goals in the Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi lead the way for Champions League goals, with Robert Lewandowski now clear in third having brought up his own century. Ronaldo has netted for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, with Messi on target for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Ronaldo and Messi were the first two players to score over 100 goals in the competition with Lewandowski bringing up his own century and like the remaining players in the all-time European Cup/Champions League top ten, none featured in the competition when it was still the European Champion Clubs' Cup.

Lewandowski netted a first-half penalty to give Barcelona a 1-0 lead in their group-phase match against Brest on Tuesday.

The 36-year-old joins Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi on the list of players with a century of European Cup goals.

Ronaldo scored 140 times in 183 games for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, while Messi notched 129 goals in 163 matches for Barcelona and Paris St-Germain.

The striker set out when he was with Borussia Dortmund, scoring 17 goals in 28 games for the German club over three seasons. His performances saw him signed by Bayern Munich, where he became their focal point in attack. He went on to score 69 goals in eight seasons for the Bavarian side.

Lewandowski is now in his third season with FC Barcelona and has scored 15 goals in 19 CL games.

On 18 April 2017, Ronaldo became the first player to reach 100 goals in the Champions League, bringing up his century with a hat-trick against Bayern in his 137th appearance.

Ronaldo has won the competition once with United and four times with Real Madrid, and is the only player to date to have scored in three Champions League finals. Like Messi, he has scored eight Champions League hat-tricks.
