Lymm Eyes Top Spot Amid Weather Disruptions

Widespread frost and snow have wreaked havoc on England Rugby's National League 2, leading to multiple match postponements across its divisions. As of January 10, 2025, National Two North has seen six fixtures called off, although Lymm, currently in second place, is still scheduled to travel to Fylde, ranked fourth. A successful outing could see Lymm reclaim the top position in the division, pending a pitch inspection on Saturday morning.

In National Two East, only two matches have been postponed, including the highly anticipated Kent derby between Tonbridge Juddians, sitting at the top of the table, and Sevenoaks. This postponement opens the door for Dorking, in second place, to narrow the eight-point gap at the summit when they face Old Albanian, positioned tenth. Other fixtures in this division, such as Colchester against Barnes and Oxford Harlequins versus Bury St Edmunds, are expected to proceed as planned due to their scheduling on 4G surfaces. Additionally, Guernsey Raiders will host Havant, while Worthing, at the bottom of the table, prepares to welcome an in-form Canterbury.

National Two West sees Camborne starting the New Year with a five-point lead over second-placed Cinderford. Camborne's first match of 2025 is a crucial away game against fourth-placed Taunton Titans, who have maintained an unbeaten home record this season. Other notable matches include Clifton visiting Luctonians, with Clifton riding an eight-match winning streak, and Hornets facing Loughborough Students on a 4G surface. Redruth will host Bournville, while bottom-placed Devonport Services take on Old Redcliffians.
