FC Dallas Extends Bernard Kamungo`s Contract

FC Dallas has secured midfielder Bernard Kamungo with a three-year contract extension, including options for 2027 and 2028. This move comes after Kamungo, who became a U.S. citizen in May 2022, demonstrated his value on the field without occupying an international roster spot. In the 2024 season, he made a significant impact by appearing in 29 matches, starting 13, and logging a career-high 1,318 minutes. His contributions extended beyond the regular season, as he also participated in the Leagues Cup and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

At just 23 years old, Kamungo has already made a name for himself in Major League Soccer, being ranked No. 19 on the 2023 22 Under 22 list. He made 16 appearances in the MLS regular season for FC Dallas and earned his debut with the U.S. senior national team on January 20, 2024. Additionally, he was part of the U.S. U-23 pre-Olympic team in 2023, showcasing his potential for future contributions at the national level.

In other league news, the New England Revolution traded forward Giacomo Vrioni to CF Montréal for $50,000 in General Allocation Money for 2025. The Revolution retained a portion of Vrioni's salary and a percentage of any future sale, freeing up a Designated Player slot on their roster.
