Harlequins Triumph Over Newcastle Falcons

Harlequins kicked off 2025 with a commanding 38-14 victory against Newcastle Falcons at Kingston Park on January 3. The match showcased Harlequins' dominance from the outset, with James Chisholm scoring the opening try from a lineout. Despite a brief setback when Newcastle's Adam Radwan equalized following Irne Herbst's sin-binning, Marcus Smith quickly restored Harlequins' lead before halftime.

As the match progressed, Newcastle managed to close the gap to just three points with a try from Ben Redshaw in the final quarter. However, Harlequins responded decisively, crossing the try line three times in the last eight minutes through Jack Walker, Oscar Beard, and Sam Riley, sealing the bonus-point win. Smith's performance was instrumental, contributing 18 points with five conversions and a penalty.

This victory marked a significant turnaround for Harlequins, who had been struggling with a four-game winless streak in the Gallagher Premiership. The win also extended their impressive record against Newcastle, having now won their last nine encounters.
