As the 2025 Major League Soccer (MLS) season approaches, several teams have been active in the MLS SuperDraft, bolstering their rosters with new talent. Here are some of the key highlights from the recent draft.

Seattle Sounders FC made significant selections, picking midfielder Ryan Baer from West Virginia in the first round (28th overall), defender Demian Alvarez from Seattle University in the second round (58th overall), and forward Trace Terry from Bowling Green University in the third round (76th overall). These additions are expected to strengthen the Sounders' squad for the upcoming season[1].

The New England Revolution also made a notable move by signing free agent goalkeeper Alex Bono to a two-year contract. Bono, with 169 regular season appearances and 33 shutouts under his belt, brings considerable experience to the Revolution's goalkeeping position[1].

In other draft news, the Colorado Rapids selected nine players, while Real Salt Lake added eight players through the draft. The San Jose Earthquakes made impactful selections, picking St. Louis University defender Max Floriani second overall and USF defender Reid Roberts fifth overall[1].
