Houston Cougars Maintain Strong Streak in College Basketball

:The Houston Cougars have continued their impressive form in college basketball, maintaining their rankings in the latest polls. As of December 23, 2024, the Cougars remain unchanged at No. 15 in the Associated Press poll and No. 12 in the USA Today coaches’ poll.

Houston recently extended their home court winning streak to 29 games with a convincing 87-51 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at the Fertitta Center. This win also marked the 100th victory for the Cougars at the Fertitta Center since it opened in 2018. Earlier in the week, they dominated Toledo with a 78-49 win.

The Cougars are part of a strong Big 12 contingent in the rankings, joined by Iowa State (No. 3 in both polls), Kansas (No. 7 in both), Cincinnati (No. 17 in both), and Baylor (No. 25 in AP; No. 23 in USA Today).

Houston will be off for the entire week and will resume action on December 30, when they open Big 12 Conference play against Oklahoma State.
