Headlining the squad is 2023 Norm Smith Medallist and Collingwood premiership player Bobby Hill, who will be joined by other notable players such as Brisbane Lions premiership duo Charlie Cameron and Callum Ah Chee. St Kilda veteran Brad Hill, a three-time premiership winner with Hawthorn, and Melbourne's exciting young player Kysaiah Pickett are also part of the initial lineup.
Fremantle veteran Michael Walters and West Coast Eagles high-flyer Liam Ryan round out the first set of names announced. Walters, who missed the last Indigenous All-Stars game in 2015 due to injury, expressed his excitement about participating in the upcoming match, especially since it will be held at Optus Stadium in Perth.
Charlie Cameron emphasized the significance of representing the AFL Indigenous All-Stars, stating that it is an honor to play alongside the best Indigenous talent and hoping that this match will inspire the next generation of Indigenous players.
The Indigenous All-Stars selection panel, chaired by Sydney icon Michael O’Loughlin, will continue to announce additional players for the squad over the coming months.
